Spotlight on Abe Hefter

Abe Hefter is long-time radio broadcaster who has covered sports in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, with stops as Sports Director at the Canadian Press news agency in Toronto, and sports anchor/reporter at CKNW Vancouver.  His reporting assignments have taken him to the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Pan-Am Games, Stanley Cup Finals, Grey Cup, and Major League Baseball Playoffs.  Since 2002, he has been at CJAD Radio in Montreal, where he is a sports anchor, reporter and show host.  Abe also spent five years in the Public Affairs office at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.  A graduate of Sir George Williams University (DEC) and McGill University (B.A.), Abe is a Jazz and Blues fan, and plays a pretty mean guitar.

At the Centre for Continuing Education, Abe’s philosophy on teaching is simple:

Spell out expectations and give students the tools to get the job done.

To his prospective students, he has one piece of advice.:

Treat others with respect and approach your work with integrity.  Everything else will fall into place.

For the fall 2009 session, Abe will be teaching:
