We all get the emails from friends or posts on social media sites about “you gotta watch this video, its hilarious!”. Viral videos are perhaps one of the most effective advertising tools on the web today, as they offer free advertising and are often viewed by millions of people. Getting a video to go viral is hard to do and requires good planning and foresight, but the pay off can be huge. Advertising Age has posted the Top Viral Videos of 2009 which details the most successful viral videos of the year. On the List are such companies such as LG, Microsoft, and more surprisingly, Evian and their dancing babies.
